A group of butterflies is known as a "kaleidoscope". The wing elements from Imago inspired this collection of small scale, wall-hung sculptures. The wings are cut from Imago's custom iridescent stainless steel, with colors shifiting from forest green to a deep phthalo blue. depending on the angle of the viewer and the light source,
The following wall-sculptures were created from prototype cuts and components of my large sculptures. Now in private collections or donated to the Black Rocks Arts annual fundraiser.
Alongside (In)Visible, I created a series of jewelry pieces with bismuth, which is a metal crystal. I melted powdered bismuth to liquid, then cooled it to form crystalline structures that have a naturally-occuring iridescence.
